Cold Case Van
Narrative focused texturing project based around a cold case van
Recently pulled from an Ontario lake, this van helped solve a 40-year-old cold case of missing government employee, Michael Nowak. Despite the mud and aging, evidence of what happened can be found in the passenger side bullet holes, deep scratches, and a locked briefcase. Although we may never know the exact series of events, it’s clear this was more than an accident…
This van was inspired by the many true crime documentaries and podcasts I consume, most prominently the podcast, “Someone Knows Something.” The goal was to craft a solvable narrative through subtle texturing clues.
